The American Association of Zoo Veterinarians
The objectives of the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians
are: To advance programs for preventive medicine, husbandry,
and scientific research in the field of veterinary medicine
dealing with captive and free-ranging wild animals; To provide
a forum for the presentation and discussion of problems related
to the field of captive and free-ranging wild animals;To publish
and distribute scientific information pertinent to the field
of veterinary medicine dealing with captive and free-ranging
wild animals; To enhance and uphold the professional ethics
of veterinary medicine.
American Association of Wildlife Veterinarians
To enhance the contribution of veterinary medicine to the
welfare of the wildlife resource; To encourage and promote
a philosophy of animal management and preventative medicine
as it relates to free-ranging species; To encourage an increased
emphasis in colleges of veterinary medicine relative to management
and preventative medicine of free-ranging species;To encourage
the recognition of disease syndromes in their broadest sense
as potentially influenced by habitat succession, alteration
and pollution; To educate and gain rapport with government
agencies and wildlife resource interest groups concerning
the importance of wildlife preventative medicine and disease
in relation to the wildlife resource and domestic species;
To educate and inform governmental agencies and wildlife resource
interest groups of support and educational services which
may be provided by wildlife veterinarians; To promote and
encourage the utilization of veterinarians in the field of
wildlife resource management and research; To encourage cooperative
efforts among resource management professionals and wildlife
veterinarians; To stress the importance of the inter-relationships
of human, domestic animals and wildlife as reservoirs of disease;
To help establish and work for continuing education programs
for wildlife veterinarians.

The Veterinary Information Network, founded in 1990 by veterinarians
Dr. Duncan Ferguson and Dr. Paul D. Pion, is a division of
the Veterinary Information Network, Inc. VIN is the first
and largest online service for veterinary professionals. It
can be defined as a multi-specialist veterinary facility,
with boarded consultants and a fully-staffed library / trained
librarians.
The Veterinary Support Personnel Network
The Veterinary Support Personnel Network is for people working
with, for, or in the field of veterinary medicine. In order
to have access to all of VSPN's community features including
message boards, chats, and CE, you will need to register.
The Wildlife Disease Association
The Wildlife Disease Association (WDA) is dedicated to wildlife
conservation through the study and understanding of diseases
in wildlife. Founded in 1951, the WDA has flourished as an
international, nonprofit organization with more than 1300
members from 45 countries. WDA members are actively engaged
in research, teaching, and service activities related to wildlife.
Our Goal Our mission is to acquire, disseminate, and apply
knowledge of the health and diseases of wild animals in relation
to their biology, conservation, and interactions with human
and domestic animals.
Our concerns encompass infectious, parasitic, and toxic disease
agents, as well as nutritional, physiologic, developmental,
and neoplastic diseases of game, non-game, and endangered
species; issues related to wildlife relocation and wildlife
rehabilitation, zoological parks, public health, domestic
and wild animal interactions, comparative medicine, and ecosystem
health.
The Morris Animal Foundation
Morris Animal Foundation improves the health and well-being
of companion animals and wildlife by funding humane health
studies and disseminating information about these studies.
Morris Animal Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Morris Animal Foundation is the funding source for animal
health studies that are conducted at veterinary institutions
throughout the world. Once an animal health study is completed,
the principal investigator disseminates the findings in peer-reviewed
publications to the veterinary community. The Foundation's
volunteer Scientific Advisory Board evaluates each study based
on relevance, scientific soundness and humane treatment. The
Foundation does not endorse or sell any pet products or services.

The South East Asian Zoo Association
The vision of the South East Asian Zoos Association is that
its member zoos utilize their animal collections for the primary
purposes of educating our public by imparting messages on
the urgent need for environmental conservation in a manner
